Parental Geekery episode 13 – Ubisoft made us do it

by on December 11, 2012

parental geekeryFirst of all, apologies for the late release of this episode. We recorded it last week, but a combination of kids being ill, busy times at work and general panicking about Christmas has prevented us releasing it until now.

This show starts with us talking about the various illness that have hit us recently, including Catherine’s very brief visit to hospital. John’s been fighting viruses too, and he talks about Sophos, GData and Kaspersky.

The Wii U has arrived, and we talk about our initial impressions of the system (as well as explaining why Ubisoft made us buy it!)

We’re getting ready for Catherine’s school assembly – she’s going to be a snowflake.

Thanks to our friend Claire for submitting an excellent question – what is the best eReader to buy? We recommend the Kindle Paperwhite, what do you think?

We give an update on John’s Movember project. Find out if the beard is coming back in December or not…

We’ve been checking out the new MySpace, and wonder if it will rival Spotify or not…

Ruth’s been playing Bloons TD5, Supermarket Mania 2, UNO and Flow Free. We’ve both enjoyed watching Sherlock and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. John’s playing Planetside 2, Mechwarrior Online, DOTA2 and Don’t Starve. He’s currently reading Revelation Space by Alistair Reynolds.
